Hey friends!  I shot Lydia and Kieran's engagement session tonight in Brooklyn and woah baby did we end up with a bunch of super fun images...
HOW CUTE ARE THEY!?
Lydia and I went to high school together - although we didn't really know each other.  But when you grow up in FP, you just kinda know everyone...smallest.town.eva.
My love for this next series of shots knows no bounds...the rain held off and we got some amazing cloud cover and resulting muted light.  YUM!
Lydia's Mom gave her this locket as an engagement gift.  And guess what?  I already forget the Italian to English translation of the saying.  I AM MEMENTO.
Oh hi, I love this ring.
Cute!!
Ending with this one.  The shot that I have aptly nicknamed "for the parents."
Lydia and Kieran I literally CAN'T WAIT to shoot your wedding in a few months!  You guys are so up my alley :-)

The weather for Bridget and Mike's engagement session was BEAUTIFUL!  Had so much fun with these guys :-)  Roosevelt Island may just be NY's best kept secret.  Amazing scenery and a super cute couple?  This photographer was a happy camper!
Oh you know....just chillin in the cherry blossoms.
How cute are they!?
In front of the hospital where they both worked (and met)...
LOVE.LOVE.LOVE. these next two!
The Notebook!  Or Dirty Dancing?  I forget which we decided...
Bridget and Mike, I had so much fun hanging with you guys!!  Congrats on the engagement and happy planning!!

Arely and I worked together at my very first job out of college and on our lunch break we would sometimes (all the time) sit in my car and talk about what we wanted our engagement rings and weddings to be like...not because we were crazy...because we are GIRLS....and that is just what girls do, k? :-)

ANYWAY, fast forward 3 or 4 years and SHE AND JEFF ARE ENGAGED!!!! YAYY!!!!  Oh, and I've also started a photography business.  Put these things together and you've got Arely and Jeff's ADORABLE engagement session!!
Today was the unofficial first day of spring and the weather and sunlight was amazzzinnggg!
I have literally never met anyone who laughs more than Arely.  Hang around her and you will feel like the FUNNIEST person alive!
Love this next set of 3.  The exact same angle and posing, but 3 completely different shots.  Aw shux, you guys sure are cute!
Tres chic!  I love polka dots, but I can't pull them off.  Arely in polka dots??  Pulling.  It.  Off.
The usual bonus points were awarded for laying in the grass....
Soooo the sun started to set and HOT DAYUMMM we got some gorgeous light!
Congrats Arely and Jeff!!!  Can't wait to shoot your wedding dudes :-)

HEYOOOO!  Sometimes choosing photos for the blog is like a Mother choosing favorites among her children.  When I was editing Nina and Joe's engagement session I was all "but I love them allll"....here is the resulting reallllyyyly long blog post:
Nina is pretty hideous looking, no?  GORGEOUS!
I feel like this next set kind of sums up Nina and Joe as a couple...
No shortage of AMAZING backdrops at this super cool Long Island City location...
Cuteness!
LOVE this shot.
Warming up after our session with some yummy cappuccino.
A)  Congrats Nina and Joe!!!  You are my most favoritest engagement session ever!!

B)  Can't wait to shoot your wedding this Labor Day!!!

Andrea and Matthew met in college.  A few years (and medical school degrees) later he popped the question and she said yes!  They live in Boston but recently were the guests of honor at a party celebrating their engagement on Long Island.  Before the guests started to arrive, I stole them away for some quick portraits...
So. cute.  They had engagement photos done a few weeks before the party, which was awesome for me because they were old pros :-)
I love how the cake matches Andrea's fab dress!
The Father of the Bride-to-be gave such a touching toast.
Happy planning and congrats to YOU Andrea and Matt!!  Nothing but love.

I am photographing Kristina and Joe's wedding next summer, but we met up recently for an engagement session in their home.  I LOVE engagement sessions because they are a great way to get all the awkward nervous jitters out before the big day.

Sooo, see that gorgeous house?  JOE BUILT IT HIMSELF.  Like in the Notebook.  Or those stories that start with "your Great Grandfather built this house with his bare hands."  Oh and also - they will be having their wedding reception in the backyard :-)
Just chillen.
BONUS POINTS FOR LAYING IN THE GRASS!!!
Dirty dancing?
There is more to life than being ridiculously good-looking...
ADDITIONAL BONUS POINTS FOR BEING "CRAZY" DOG PARENTS!!!!
annnnddddd FAVORITE!
See you crazy kids in 7 months!!

Jenny and Matt:  He's a mechanical engineer (go Jaspers!!!) - she's a speech pathologist - together they are just about the cutest thing you've ever seen.  I met up with them at a vineyard and we braved the yucky weather and MADE IT WORK ya'll.
Here's Matt getting out the "this is awkward" jitters.
These two are naturals.  Obbbviiousssllyy.
Picnic anyone???
FAVORITE.
Prediction:  You two are going to make quite a stunning bride/groom combo.
See you crazy lovebirds in June 2013 - Can't wait for the big day!

Meet Christina and Alex.  They are ENGAGED!!! Woot woot!
They make each other laugh...
Alex is an old buddy of my best friend's older brother.  Translation?  He's good people.
Hey Christina!  Probably just stand around in the sunlight forever.  You are GORGEOUS!
Outfit change.  Can I get a VA VA VOOM!!???
Good times!  Congrats you guys!!!

Since I have occasionally (constantly) documented certain aspects of my personal life here on the blog, I almost feel as though it would be awkward NOT to mention the teeny tiny recent development in my neck of the woods...

I'M ENGAGED!!!!!
Halfway through a long bike ride Joe popped the question during our PP&J picnic and I said yes.   Well, first I said "oh my god what the BLEEP are you doing!?" and then I said yes.  Yay!!

You may not know from looking at that incredibly glamorous shot of me above, but I am something of a tomboy.  Luckily Joe
(and Denise!) knows my style well and got me onllyyyyyyyy the coolest not-too-girliest ring ever....
Soooo anyway...I'm not really the type to burst into a room waving her left hand around yelling "I'M ENGAGED YA'LL!!!" but I wanted to keep my faithful readers (hi Mom and Dad!) in the know.  Just kidding, my parents already know.  Obbbvvvviously.

We are very happy <3

ALRIGHT ALRIGHT back to work.  Nothing to see here.

A few weeks ago I was doing wedding stuff with my collection of future Sisters in Law when Future Sister in Law Sarah got a text message and promptly declared..."my friend just got engaged!"

A couple of days later said friend sent me an inquiry - her name is Meaghan and she wanted to set up an engagement session ASAP.  I was happy to oblige.  I met her and her hubby-to-be Brian in Manhattan today at her family's pub on 3rd avenue.
After a beer and some casual "interacting" (my new favorite direction to give is "INTERACT!"....luckily Meaghan and Brian turned it into something really cute and awesome throughout our session) we strolled a few blocks into Central Park.  The weather was perfection.
First of all - I love Meaghan's beautiful non-traditional emerald ring.  Second of all - they were both wearing bracelets that say "Love perfectly : Wait Patiently" which was one of Brian's late Grandfather's quotables.  So sweet, and so fitting.
When people are willing to lay in the grass - I am generally their #1 fan....
Meaghan and Brian - it was such a pleasure getting to know you guys!  Congrats!
